Probe against police sought

MITHI, Aug 30: A large number of women belonging to Bajir community held a demonstration for the third day running outside the press club on Saturday in protest against what they called uncalled for raids by police on their homes and arrest of five people.

Ms Hurmat, Ms Khadija, Ms Karoon and Ms Amina of Bharmilio village demanded that the high authorities conduct inquiry into the police raids and arrests and give them justice.

They said that police had arrested five of their men under a fake case at the instigation of a local PPP leader who had a dispute with their community over a piece of land.
