MITHI, Aug 28: Women and children of Bajir community of Bharmilio village in Mithi taluka staged a demonstration outside the press club here on Thursday to protest against what they called police raids on their houses at the behest of a local People’s Party leader.

They alleged that the Mithi police had registered a false case and arrested their men Nasir, Ismail, Naban, Siddique and Abban at the behest of the PPP leader from Diplo taluka, who they claimed was involved in a land dispute with them.

They said in absence of their male family members, Mithi police had raided their homes on Wednesday night, misbehaved with women and children, violated the sanctity of house and took away their 50 goats.

They said due to the fear of police they were living in jungle without food since past three days.
