KARACHI, Aug 28: As many as 36 colleges and higher secondary schools, including government institutions, may lose their affiliation with the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) for showing less than 10 per cent results in the HSC Part-II Science (Pre-medical) group annual examinations-2008.

Notices have been issued to all such colleges asking them to clarify their position and justify their dismal performance.

BIEK chairman Prof Anwar Ahmed Zai said an affiliated institution was required to come out with at least 30 per cent result and in case they failed to deliver, their affiliation could either be cancelled or suspended. Sources in the BIEK said that the colleges showing poor results had been given a chance to defend their position.—Staff Reporter
