Wedding party robbed of cash, gold

SHEIKHUPURA, Aug 26: Four robbers deprived a marriage party, including bride and groom, of jewellery, cash and other valuables near Tapiala Dost Muhammad on Narang Road here on Tuesday.

Reports said the marriage party of Imran of Chah Miran, Lahore, was on its way back from Narang. Near Tapiala Dost Muhammad, the robbers stopped the convoy and tried to kidnap the couple. The elders decided to hand over cash and valuables to the outlaws. The robbers after collecting valuables worth Rs1 million disappeared in woods Muridke Sadar police are investigating.

In another incident, three dacoits in the guise of passengers boarded a Sheikhupura-bound wagon. Near Missan Kalar, they whipped out their weapons and robbed passengers of cash and valuables worth Rs600,000. Factory area police are investigating.

Three armed men stopped motorist Asif near Saggian Bridge and drove away with his car.

Three dacoits stormed into the house of Malik Shaukat at Bungla Sikhanwala on Jaranwala Road and made off with cash and valuables worth Rs200,000.
