Pagara not to oppose Zardari

KARACHI, Aug 24: Pakistan Muslim League-Functional chief Pir Pagara has said that Pakistan People’s Party co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari does not need his support to get elected to the office of the president of the country.

He was talking to newsmen after meeting Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani and other PPP leaders at the Kingri House here on Sunday.

The prime minister was accompanied by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah, acting Sindh Governor and Speaker of the Sindh assembly Nisar Ahmed Khuhro and Sindh Senior Minister Pir Mazhar-ul-Haq.

Pir Pagara also said that he would not oppose Asif Zardari’s candidature.

Prime Minister Gilani thanked Pir Pagara for support of PML-F members in the Sindh assembly for the resolution proposing Asif Zardari as a candidate for the office of the president.—APP
