Sindh govt official kidnapped

HYDERABAD, Aug 24: Munawar Junejo, director-general of the designs, works and services department, was kidnapped from Matiari on Sunday when he was returning from his farm in Tando Allahyar.

Mr Junejo’s official car was intercepted by some people in another car near Shahpur.

His driver Arif told police that there were four kidnappers who forced Mr Junejo in their car.

Mr Junejo lives in Qasimabad and deals with designs of buildings and roads.

The immediate motive for the kidnapping couldn’t be ascertained. No case was lodged till the evening because police were unable to decide whether the kidnapping had taken place in the district of Matiari or Hyderabad.
