NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, Aug 23: The tail-end growers of Darbelo, Larik and Detha minors took out a rally and staged a demonstration outside the SDO irrigation office and Tharushah Press Club on Saturday to protest against the non-supply of water.

They said influential landlords had installed pipes in minors and lifting water through suction motors.

They accused them of breaking watercourse points from where water was released according to the quantity sanctioned.

They said influential landlords were taking water much beyond their share and as a result of which the crops of small growers had dried and they were suffering loses.

The growers said they had approached the SDO of irrigation of Tharushah several times but he was keeping them on false hopes and now he was helpless as influential landlords were complaining against him when he stopped them from taking water illegally.

They demanded of the Sindh chief minister and the irrigation minister to take action against influential landlords and provide them justice.
