QUETTA, Aug 22: The Baloch Liberation Army claimed on Friday to have attacked a vehicle and a security checkpost in Chamalang and Karmo Wadh areas.

BLA spokesman Beebargh Baloch told newsmen on satellite phone from an unspecified place that security forces suffered losses in the attack on the vehicle in Chamalang.

He also said that the forces had launched an operation with air support in some areas of Kohlu district.

He said that a number of people, including women and old men, were killed in the operation.

Official sources, however, said that no such incident had taken place.
