Car-lifters gang busted

TAXILA, Aug 20: The National Highway Police on Wednesday recovered a vehicle of the NWFP government and arrested members of a gang of car lifters.

Sources in NHWP told this correspondent that Allah Dad, an employee of the Information Department, NWFP was going to Peshawar in official vehicle. When he reached near Burhan interchange on GT road, some persons travelling in another vehicle forcefully stopped him and snatched the vehicle on pistol point and dropped him near Losar Sharfoo.

He informed NHWP, who traced the vehicle on GT road and overpowered the vehicle snatchers. A case has been registered against the members of the gang of car jackers.
