ISLAMABAD, Aug 19: Government is looking into a number of proposals including raising a fence around the Parliament House, updating CC TV, jammers and other detective gadgets in the house to ensure its security.

These proposals were discussed in a meeting held here at the Parliament House that was chaired by Deputy Speaker National Assembly Faisal Karim Kundi.

The meeting reviewed security arrangements in place and measures to upgrade them.

Secretary interior ministry, chief commissioner Islamabad, IG Police, SSP and SP ICT, and senior officers of the CDA, Senate and National Assembly Secretariat attended the meeting.

The meeting was informed that security of the house was the main concern of the law-enforcement agencies and that all necessary steps had been taken to the effect.

A committee of technical experts from the interior ministry, police department, CDA, IB, and Senate and National Assembly Secretariat officials was constituted to review and finalise the proposals regarding security plan of the Parliament House.

It was decided that the committee would meet twice a week to review any matter relating to security issue of the house.
