HYDERABAD, Aug 19: The Progressive Writers Association paid tribute to noted intellectual and journalist Ehsan Azeem Siddiqui at a condolence reference at the local press club.
The central deputy secretary general of the association, Rahat Saeed, said Siddiqui was a great asset for the progressive movement for which he worked throughout his life. He was one of the pillars of the struggle against feudal lords, capitalists and imperialists, he said.
Siddiqui reorganised the association in Kotri, Hyderabad and several other towns and also provided guidance to the trade union movement, he said.
Dr Khalil Kazi, secretary of the association’s Hyderabad chapter, said that Siddiqui’s services for journalism, progressive writing and trade union movement could never be forgotten.
Siddiqui was a revolutionary and a visionary and he would always be remembered for his great role in the progressive movement, Kazi said.
