Girl recovered

FAISALABAD, Aug 16: Factory Area police arrested two alleged kidnappers and recovered a five-year-old girl from their custody here on Saturday.

Police said Amina of Gujranwala had been kidnapped for ransom from her maternal grandfather’s house in Khalidabad on Aug 14.

She along with other children was playing in the street when some criminals kidnapped her and later demanded Rs2 million ransom for her release. Her parents had come here to celebrate Independence Day.

Police said they traced the cell phone calls and arrested the accused from Malkhanwala and recovered the girl.

Factory Area DSP Ghulam Akbar declined to give any sort of detail and said police officials would apprise the media shortly.
