NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, Aug 16: The office-bearers of Society for the Protection of the Rights of the Child (SPARC) visited Khahi Jalal Ji village on Saturday and met with victim girl, who was kidnapped two years ago and was raped several times.

Later, talking to journalists at Naushahro Feroze Press Club, district general secretary of SPARC Ms Shahnaz Janwari and Naseem Umrani said the investigation police had not arrested the accused in the case despite registration of an FIR on Friday.

They complained that the accused were issuing threats to the victim girl and forcing her to withdraw the case or face the consequences.

They alleged that the police were either inefficient or were supporting the accused as they had failed to arrest the perpetrators of this heinous crime.They demanded immediate arrest of the accused.

Later, they also staged protest demonstration.

The girl was kidnapped from Khahi Jalal Ji village some two years ago and reached her home a couple of days ago along with a one-and-half year old son.

Her father had lodged an FIR with Padidan police.

She said she was kidnapped and raped by her tormentors who held her in confinement for a month and then sold her to some other men she had named in her case. The woman claimed the kidnappers kept her in detention in Karachi where she was sexually assaulted several times then she was shifted to the Punjab where a man named Hameed kept her and sexually assaulted her.

She said she managed to escape from Hameed’s captivity and reached Chiniot where another man, Hakeem, kept her in confinement. He also sexually assaulted her and got her pregnant. She gave birth to a child.

She said that she managed to escape from there and reached her parents’ house.
