FAISALABAD, Aug 12: A police constable and a robber were killed in a shootout in Gulistan Colony late on Monday night.

According to the police, four robbers stormed Irfan Ahmed’s house and held his family hostage.

However, one of the family members informed police about the robbery.

A police team reached the scene. Robbers opened fire at constable Abdul Wahid of Sargodha Road Police Station when he tried to enter the house.

He was injured seriously and died on his way to a hospital.

The police called reinforcement and besieged the house.

In the ensuing shootout a robber was also killed, but his three accomplices fled.
