Woman killed in aerial firing

LAHORE, Aug 12: A mother of five was killed when a man in the neighbourhood resorted to aerial firing in the Gawalmandi area on Tuesday.

Police said Nazir and Naveed had developed differences over some family issue for the last several months.

On Tuesday, following an exchange of hot words, one of them resorted to aerial firing and a bullet hit their neighbour, Tahira Bibi, 40, who was standing on the roof of her house.

She was rushed to Mayo Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The accused brothers managed their escape.

ROBBERIES: Three robbers looted Rs850,000 in cash from a citizen in Muslim Town on Tuesday.

Zafar was on his way after withdrawing cash from a bank when the robbers, riding a car, snatched cash from him near Anmol Hospital.

Two armed men snatched jewellery from Zahid and his wife in Kashmir Block of Iqbal Town, while as many robbers deprived Asif Mumtaz of Rs450,000 and a cell phone in Faisal Town.
