ATTOCK, Aug 10: A crackdown has been ordered against the sale of unauthorised cellphone SIMs in the district.

Chairing a monthly crime meeting at the district police headquarters here, DPO Attock Mohammad Wisal Fakhar directed his subordinate officials to conduct raids on the shops and other centers where the unauthorized sale of the SIMs was continuing despite expiry of the deadline. He said strict legal action should be taken against the violators.

Referring to the overall working of the police stations, the DPO declared the performance of SHOs Attock Saddar, Pindigheb, Hazro and Bahtar unsatisfactory during the last month and issued them show-cause notices.

However, he expressed satisfaction over the working of Attock city, Attock Khurd, Hasanabdal City/Saddar, Jand and Fatehjang SHOs and awarded them appreciation certificates.

The police officials were asked to further improve their efficiency particularly in arresting proclaimed offenders, court absconders and other wanted criminals and eliminating gambling and narcotics dens.—Correspondent
