PESHAWAR, May 6: Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan has said that unlike other countries of the world, poverty increased three-fold in Pakistan.
He blamed this unhealthy trend on the corrupt practices of past governments.
Speaking at a public gathering at Swati Phatak here on Sunday night, Imran urged the National Accountability Bureau to take strict action against those politicians who are responsible for the present economic crisis in the country.
The meeting was also attended by PTI provisional president Nawabzada Mohsin Ali Khan, Dr Ajmal Khan and Shah Farman Khan.
Other speakers said the rejected lot in the political leadership of the country had ruthlessly plundered the public money and siphoned it off abroad.
They demanded of the government to frame necessary laws for the recovery of the looted money.
