PPP to finalise strategy on Monday

Published August 9, 2008

LAHORE, Aug 8: The PPP’s Punjab chapter has convened a meeting of parliamentary party on Aug 11 to finalise a strategy for ouster of President Musharraf, says party leader Raja Riaz.

At a press conference here on Friday, he said it would be better if Musharraf quit himself rather than facing impeachment proceedings. After Musharraf’s exit, he said, the PPP would restore judges in the light of the Bhurban Declaration.

Ruling out the possibility of governor’s rule in the province, he said the PPP had full confidence in Taseer that he would not resort to such ‘adventurism’. He predicted the PPP would get much more votes than required to oust Musharraf “who has become redundant”.
