LAHORE, Aug 6: Wrestlers from Pakistan and India will fight out 24 bouts in four cities of Pakistan from Aug 15 to 26.

The main bout in the series between Rustam-i-Pakistan Bashir Bhola Bhala and India’s top wrestler Naveen Kumar will be held in Lahore on Aug 26. Naveen, currently representing his country at the Olympics, will fly out to Lahore from Beijing for the match.

While announcing the details of the four-match series at a press conference on Wednesday, Ijaz Gul, the chairman of the organising committee and Khawar Shah, its technical director, said at a press conference on Wednesday that the 14-member delegation from Indian Punjab would reach Lahore via the Wagah Border on Aug 12.

The first tie of the series will be hosted in Multan on Aug 15. There will be four bouts in all at Multan followed by the second tie of four in Bahawalpur from Aug 17. Gujranwala, where nine bouts are scheduled, will be the third venue on Aug 24.

Finally, the top wrestlers of the two countries will reach Lahore to play the last tie comprising even more bouts commencing from Aug 26.
