HYDERABAD, Oct 24: The Nazims of talukas and union councils should try their utmost to resolve the problems of the people of their respective areas.

This was stated by the brigade commander, 55 Brigade, who was addressing the Nazims at the taluka council Tando Muhammad Khan on Tuesday.

He said the new system will face some bottlenecks in the beginning but in the long run it will benefit the people as all their problems will be resolved at the local level.

Speaking on the occasion, the Zila Nazim, Hyderabad, Dr Makhdoom Rafiquzzaman said that as far as he was concerned all the Talukas of the district were equal and judicious funds will be allocated to all of them for development purposes.

He said from the next financial year, which starts from June 2002, all the councils will prepare their own budgets and levy taxes.

The Taluka Nazims, Naib Nazims, and the Nazims of various union councils briefed the Brigadier and the Zila Nazim about the problems of their areas.

Later, the Zila Nazim inspected the repair work of Tando Muhammad Khan-Matli road and Dando-Phalkara road.

ADMISSIONS: The Principal of Youth Vocational Centre, Tando Allahyar, has announced the admission in Electric, Auto Mechanic and Tractor Mechanic trades (one year course) for the session 2002.

He has advised interested candidates to contact the Youth Vocational Centre, Tando Allahyar, during office hours.

UNIVERSITY SYNDICATE: The election to the reserved seat of university teachers on the syndicate of the Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences, Jamshoro, was held here on Wednesday. Dr Muhammad Shahzad Laghari was declared successful.
