SHIKARPUR, July 30: Burial of leading lawyer Imdad Awan was postponed for Thursday as his sister and other family members to arrive from the US are expected to attend funeral.

All arrangements are complete for his burial in Shikarpur. He will be laid to rest at his ancesteral graveyard near the office of Taluka Mukhtiarkar after Nimaz-i-Janaza at New Anaaj Mandi here on Thursday at 10am. His body lay at his Sukkur residence.

In Mirpurkhas, lawyers on Wednesday offered Ghaibana Namaz-i-Janaza of Imadad Awan inside the premises of district and sessions court. A condolence meeting, presided over by Mirpurkhas District Bar Association President Salahuddin Panhwar, was also held.

In Khairpur, two meetings were held over Mr Awan’s death. The Khairpur District Bar also held a condolence meeting.

The DBA General Secretary, Abdul Qayoom Shaikh lauded the services of late Awan for unity and welfare of lawyers. He announced three-day mourning by the DBA.

The Civil Society of Khairpur held a condolence meeting presided over by its chairman Shakir Shah.

Mr Shah, Mir Munawar Talpur, Aijaz Abbasi and Amjad Lashari paid tribute to late Awan.
