KARACHI, July 29: The chief minister’s inspection team on Tuesday paid a visit to the Sabzimandi (vegetable and fruit market) on the Super Highway amidst complaints of illegal construction, encroachment and occupation of shops and sheds on fake papers.

The stakeholders informed the team that despite the presence of the Rangers in the Mandi, the situation of encroachments had not yet improved as the Rangers said until they were asked by the committee’s administrator they would not initiate any action.

The chief minister had deputed the team to inquire the situation after receiving complaints from stakeholders that shops were being occupied with the connivance of the market committee.— Staff Reporter
