Pervaiz raps govt

Published July 27, 2008

LAHORE, July 26: Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has said the economy was deteriorating due to faulty policies of the coalition government and industries and businesses were being closed down due to excessive gas and electricity loadshedding and record increase in petrol and diesel prices.

Talking to a delegation of Anjuman-i-Tajran Gujrat, here on Saturday, he said the ruling coalition had failed to honour their unrealistic promises in respect of reducing the prices and were blaming each other instead of providing relief to the people. He said the industrialists were finding it difficult to continue operations due to unprecedented increase in raw materials, petrol and diesel prices and gas and electricity tariff.

Businesses in markets were also being affected because the prices of most of the commodities had gone beyond the reach of the common man.— Reporter
