LAHORE, July 26: More than five dozen people blocked on Saturday Ferozpur Road while protesting against the police for not arresting accused Pir Mahal (Toba Tek Singh) station house officer for allegedly killing of a headmaster. The traffic remainedsuspended for more than an hour.

The protesters appeared on four tractor trolleys and other vehicles and started shouting slogans against Pir Mahal SHO Jamshaid Chishti who allegedly shot dead Master Anayatullah, a resident of Pir Mahal, three days ago when he asked the SHO to register a case against the people who had grabbed his land.

Officials of the Garden Town and Muslim Town police led by the superintendents of police reached the spot and took into custody no less than 35 participants of the protest in order to restore traffic.

The police later released all the arrested participants.

A Garden Town police official said some protesters were taken into custody as they were on way to the chief minister’s Model Town house to stage a protest there.
