KARACHI, July 24: Habib Bank Limited (HBL) beat Pakistan Steel 2-1 in Pakistan Football Federation’s (PFF) ongoing Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL) at the People’s Sports Complex on Thursday evening.

Although first blood was drawn in the match’s 49th second by the losing side when their winger Mohammad Akram earned the title of the “quickest goal getter”, HBL managed to make a significant comeback into the match when their striker Khayal Mohammad equalised in the ninth minute.

The score remained 1-1 at interval and the match was heading towards a draw when the bankers’ other striker Abdul Waheed scored through a free kick taken from outside the penalty area.

Friday’s fixture: Afghan FC v Pak Elektron Limited at Govt High School, Chaman, at 5.30pm.
