ISLAMABAD, July 24: About 35 coaches and players will participate in the Taekwondo Peace Corps training course organised by Pakistan Taekwondo Federation (PTF) in collaboration with the World Taekwondo Federation (WTF).

This was disclosed by Liaqat Dogar, PTF Associate Secretary, while speaking to the media at the Pakistan Sports Complex on Thursday.

He said that the WTF Taekwondo Peace Corps team comprising Master Dae Hwa Park, Master Sang Jae Kim, Yao Jeong Yoo and Hyo Mi Cho will conduct the training course.

Liaqat pointed out that the main objective of the peace corps is to contribute to the promotion of world peace and enhance the image of taekwondo and the WTF in the international sports community by establishing the corps.

Players and coaches from Islamabad, four provinces, and from the police department, Wapda and Railway will participate in the peace corps programme.

Jalal Haider, President Islamabad Taekwondo Association, said that this is an achievement for the PTF that it has been selected in the first batch of the peace crops training.

“Being selected among countries like Russia, Paraguay, India and China for the peace corps training course is an honour for Pakistan,” he concluded.
