KARACHI, July 24: The city council adjourned its session till July 28 when it emerged during Thursday’s sitting that the session was inquorate.
When the house resumed its session on Thursday, some opposition members pointed out to the chair that several members of the house were not present. Thereafter, the proceedings of the house were suspended for half an hour by the presiding officer, Masood Mehmud, who chaired the meeting in the absence of Naib Nazim Nasreen Jalil.
However, the required number of members could not turn up when the house re-assembled. The presiding officer had to put off the session till Monday.
