ISLAMABAD, July 24: The IT sector can enhance efficiency in business and industry as well as in government departments by promoting an IT culture.

“Pakistan can earn valuable foreign exchange through export of IT products,” said President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), while talking to Munawar Iqbal, President of Pakistan Computer Association (PCA), who called on him here on Thursday.

The ICCI president maintained that the IT industry is facing problems and the government should pay immediate attention and remove hurdles to promotion of the sector, he added.

He said owing to decline in the growth rate of IT sector from 16 to 9.6 per cent in a short span of time, the government should take remedial measures.

Pakistan has the potential to increase the size of IT sector to over $11 billion by 2011 by creating business friendly environment.
