Aptma plea to govt

Published July 24, 2008

KARACHI, July 23: All Pakistan Textile Mills Association has urged the government to freeze all utility costs for at least one year so that the industry in general and exporters in particular can negotiate comfortably with their buyers.

In a statement, Aptma Chairman Iqbal Ibrahim expressed concern on lingering gas tariff issue for the captive power plants despite a firm government assurance to end this discrimination between textile and the general industry. He urged the government to resolve the issue promptly as it was affecting production and exports.
