Farm worker kills landlord

SANGHAR, July 22: A farm worker hacked his landlord to death in Chak No. 4 village on Head Jamrao road on Tuesday after the landlord showed reluctance in settling his accounts.

Reports said that Mehdi Hassan Rajput who used to till the land of Munir Ahmed Awan had been demanding Awan to settle accounts of the crops he had grown on the land but the landlord was reluctant.

This enraged the accused and he killed him with a hatchet after the landlord again tried to evade his demand. Police arrested the accused and shifted the body to hospital for post-mortem after registering a case.

DISCONNECTION: Hesco has disconnected power supply to more than 500 connections over non-payment of dues, according to the company’s assistant manager in Sanghar Azhar Memon.
