MIANWALI, July 20: A worker was killed and nine others, including a Chinese engineer, were injured when a huge crane overturned and fell on them at Jinnah Hydel Project site near Kalabagh, some 40 kilometres from here on Sunday.

Reports say that Dongfong construction company from China is working at the power project on the right bank of river Indus at Jinnah Barrage. Chinese engineers and workers were at work when a huge crane crashed on them. Resultantly, worker Muhammad Mushtaq of Mari Indus died instantly while Yaqub of Jalalpur, Raees of Kalabagh, Masood Alam Shah of Dilewali, Maqsood Khan and Izzat Khan of Kot-Chandna, Javed Khan of Alaf Khel, Samiullah Khan of Daudkhel, Syed Ikram Shah of Pakki Shah Mardan and Chinese engineer Loe sustained injuries. They were rushed to the Kalabagh THQ Hospital while three of them were later shifted to Mianwali DHQ Hospital in serious condition.
