Kidnappers’gang busted

GUJRANWALA, July 20: The CIA police on Sunday claimed to have busted a gang of four kidnappers and recovered illicit arms and a stolen vehicle from their possession.

CIA SP Ali Mohsin said that a police party, led by SHO Arif Mehmood, signaled a vehicle to stop, but the occupants fired at them instead. The law enforcers also returned the fire that forced the criminals to lay down their arms. Police later arrested the criminals who were identified as Akber, Tariq, Fiaz and Ijaz.

Police also recovered the stolen vehicle and illicit arms from them. The accused confessed that they had committed several heinous crimes, including kidnapping for ransom, dacoity and robbery.

Police said that the arrested criminals wanted to kidnap an industrialist for ransom in Baghbanpura.

The SP announced cash prizes and commendation certificates for the raiding party.
