Trespassing: ex-nazim booked

BAHAWALPUR, July 16: Cantonment police on Wednesday registered a case against some 50 people, including a former union council nazim, for allegedly trespassing, torturing and harassing a family.

Former Raman UC nazim Mazhar Channar and his seven accomplices including, Hafiz Anwar, Nazir Ahmed, Fayyaz and Anwar Mai, were nominated in the FIR on the intervention of MNA Baleeghur Rehman and MPA Zulfiqar Ali.

Complainants Ahmed Yar and his son Meraj of Qatal-ul-Amara Morr informed the two legislators that the accused had tortured and then evicted them from their land on the night between July 6 and 7.

They further told the legislators that the police were not ready to register a case against the accused.
