ISLAMABAD, July 15: Noshee Parveen, a national athlete who tested positive in a dope test will file an appeal against the two-year ban recommended by an enquiry commission of the Athletics Federation of Pakistan (AFP).

The two-year ban on Noshee and another athlete Mohammad Shah who also tested positive was recommended by an enquiry committee headed by Mohammad Yayha, associate secretary Pakistan Olympic Association.

Speaking to Dawn, Noshee, a 100m hurdler said that she would appeal against the recommended ban.

“I will appeal against the ban as I haven’t used any performance enhancing drugs however I was suffering from back pain and pollen allergy” she remarked.

She concurred that she had failed the dope test but stressed that she had merely used pain killers and anti allergy drugs.

“Yes, I failed to clear the dope test but I used pain killers and anti-allergy drugs and nothing else” she lamented.

Noshee, pointed out that she had not been formally informed about the decision, however, she stated: “I haven’t received any thing from the AFP yet, when I will receive the letter I will move against it”.

The hurdler is said to have breached the IAAF rule 32.2 (a) after she tested positive for nandrolone (19-norandrosterone).

Shah, 110m hurdler, was also found positive for performance enhancing drug stanozolol (hydroxystanozolol).

Meanwhile, Khalid Mehmood, Secretary AFP, said that the players had the right to appeal and they would form an appellate tribunal for their appeal.

“An appellate tribunal would hear the appeal of the athletes but we haven’t received the enquiry committee report yet,” he said.
