PTCL officials lock offices

GUJRANWALA, July 15: Pakistan Telecommunications Company Limited (PTCL) employees locked their offices, including the Gujranwala Telecom Region (GTR) regional manager office, besides taking to GT Road on Tuesday to press their high-ups to accept their demands.

Protesters demanded the company end their upper pay scale and award all workers BP-5. They also demanded that all those workers who were forcibly retired on June 30 be restored.

The representatives of workers union from Gujrat, Hafizabad, Sialkot, Narowal and Mandi Bahauddin also attended the demonstration.

Later, they took out a rally which emerged from Model Town telephone exchange and terminated outside the press club. They chanted slogans against the administration and warned that they would continue the strike.
