KARACHI, July 14: A speedy de-watering strategy for the Defence Housing Authority areas during the monsoon rains was finalized at a meeting held at the DHA office on Monday.

DHA Administrator Brig Kamran Aziz Qazi chaired the meeting, which also reviewed the progress of work on the laying of the storm-water drainage system in the area. The project is near completion.

The meeting was informed that the existing sewerage system in DHA had been upgraded and cleaning of sewerage lines, de-silting of drains/nullahs and activation of pumps was completed.

The administrator asked the officials concerned to ensure fumigation and spray operations immediately after the rains.—APP
