KARACHI: Two found shot dead

KARACHI, July 13: Two young men were killed on Sunday in acts of violence in separate parts of the city, police and hospital sources said.

The bullet-riddled body of a 27-year-old man was found at a close distance from his house in Korangi.

It was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre where hospital sources said that the victim had received four bullets in his upper torso from a very close range.

Korangi police said that the victim, Taufeeq Qureshi, son of Rafique Qureshi, had left his house No. 807 in Sector 13-C and his body was found at a desolate place in Sector 13-E.

They said that a case against unknown culprits had been registered on the complaint of the victim’s younger brother, Saqib Qureshi.

The police said that the victim, who was jobless for the past few months, was not affiliated with any political party or group.

Meanwhile, the bullet-riddled body of a 30-year-old man was found at Usmanabad Industrial Area in the limits of Kalakot police.

The victim, identified as Naseer Ahmed Jadgaal, was shifted to the Civil Hospital where sources said that the man had received at least eight bullets.

The police said that the victim was a car painter and had two wives. They said that he had separate houses for his wives in Moch Koh and Kalakot. They said Jadgaal was missing since last night. The police had registered a case against unknown culprits on the complaint of the victim’s brother, Nisar Ahmed.

Suicide

A 20-year-old woman committed suicide by hanging herself off the ceiling fan at her house in Manghopir.

The body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where the victim was identified as Hajra, wife of Saghir Ahmed.
