SIALKOT, July 12: Heavy rain lashed the district on Saturday, inundating many roads and congested areas and suspending business activities.

The rain inundated Kutchery Road, Paris Road, Abbot Road, Jail Road, Mujahid Road, Commissioner Road, congested Allama Iqbal Chowk, Khadim Ali Road, Sialkot Airport Road, Hajipura Road, railway station and district jail areas, exposing the working of the tehsil municipal administration.

The rain suspended business and trade activities in the city and disrupted electricity system in urban and rural areas of Sialkot, Daska, Sambrial and Pasrur tehsils.

On the other hand, paddy growers have warmly welcomed the heavy downpour.
