KARACHI, July 10: Four ships carrying containers, diesel oil and chemicals were accommodated berths during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Thursday.

Meanwhile, two more ships with containers and diesel oil also arrived at the outer anchorage.

Berth occupancy stood at 80 per cent as eight ships, ACX Tsubaki, Maersk Delmont, Arcadia, Sirios, Chemstar Hero, AI-Soor-II, Royal Emerald and Kaghan, were busy in loading and unloading containers, coal, rock phosphate, palm oil, diesel oil, chemicals and iron ore.

A cargo volume of 97,663 metric tons comprising 81,475 tons of import and 16,188 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sea Sky, Sic hem Defender, ACX Tsubaki, Arcadia and Chemstar Hero sailed out while Maersk Delmont, AI-Soor-II and Royal Emerald were expected to depart on Thursday.
