FAISALABAD, July 7: Punjab government is going to replace the local government system with the magisterial structure and file work has been completed in this regard with the consent of the Pakistan Peoples’ Party.

Provincial minister for law and parliamentary affairs Rana Sanaullah said this at a function held at local grain market on Sunday night.

He said magistracy system was a tremendous method for controlling the price hike and adulteration in edibles. He said Punjab government had been making all out efforts to facilitate masses and eliminate plunderers of public money and rogues.

The minister said tehsil, town and district nazims found involved in embezzlement during special audits of local governments would be prosecuted and arrested soon. Corrupt government officials would also be taken to task,he added.

Terming the law and order situation deteriorated, Sana said Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif was keen to provide relief to the public.

He said the situation could also be improved with the help of an independent judiciary.
