FAISALBAD, July 6: Robbers gunned down two people and injured seven others in Jaranwala, some 40 kilometres from here, on Sunday.

At least 10 robbers entered Wali Mohammad’s house in Altaf Town and held his family hostage. The family resisted the robbers and raised alarm.

As a result, Wali Mohammad’s neighbour came to rescue him.

Smelling the danger, the panicked robbers opened fire, killing Wali Mohammad and his neighbour Asif Imran at the scene and injuring Wali’s wife, daughter, son and four other members of his family.

However, the people caught robber Yasin and handed him to the police.

According to sources, Yasin identified his accomplices as Yousaf, Ashraf, Mohammad Ali, Shakeel, Iftikhar and Sharif of Lahore and Asif of Kasur.
