Labourer kills three children

MUZAFFARGARH, July 6: Driven by `extreme poverty’, a labourer in Alipur killed his three minor children and injured as many on Sunday evening.

Reports reaching here suggested that Abdus Salam returned to his house in Khairpur Sadaat village after failing to find any work. When his wife and six children went to sleep, he picked up an axe and attacked the children one by one.

Minors Nadeem, Sameea and Khadija (between one and six) died before getting any treatment while the rest were rushed to the Bahawal Victoria Hospital, Bahawalpur.

After committing the crime, Salam courted arrest.
