5 booked over sexual assault

NAWABSHAH, July 6: On the directives of the district and sessions judge, the Qazi Ahmed police booked five people on Sunday for sexually assaulting a girl.

The girl has stated in a complaint that on June 23, the accused, Sardar Ali Kalhoro along with four other men, Raza Mohammad Magsi, Abddul Karim Magsi, Roshan Lashari and Abdul Rasool Magsi, barged into her house and sexually assaulted her at gunpoint and tortured her. The police have started investigation. However no arrest was made till the filing of this report.

Meanwhile, a labourer died and five others were seriously injured when a speedy truck overturned near Bandhi on Sunday.

Khuda Bux Chang died on the spot while five other labourers, including Salman, Behram, Ahmed Ali, Shahnawaz and Rasool Bux, were injured when the truck loaded with stones overturned at Ghulam Mohammad Phatak in Bandhi.

All the injured have been brought to NMC hospital for treatment.
