MIRPURKHAS, July 6: A meeting of ad hoc lecturers’ action committee of Umerkot district was held on Sunday.

Professor Jadam Gaju presided over the meeting.

Professor Mohammad Akbar, Najamuddin Soomro, Mohan Lal, Mohammad Amin Panhwar and others attended the meeting.

They called upon the Sindh government to regularise the lecturers and release their salaries of five months which had been withheld.

They also observed a sit-in on road and threatened that if the government failed to regularise them they would be forced to take extreme steps and then the government will be held responsible for the consequences.

The teachers of Pithoro Taluka serving in NCHD also staged a demonstration in Umerkot against their sacking from the jobs.
