KARACHI, July 2: Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) secretary Asif Bajwa will meet Federal Sports Minister Najamuddin Khan at the Hockey Club of Pakistan (HCP) here on Thursday to discuss plans for restoration of the prestigious stadium.

The HCP has been the hub of hockey activities since 1960s and it became the premier centre of the country after installation of Astroturf in 1978 and holding of the first-ever Champions Trophy.

The PHF and the Cantonment Board were at loggerheads recently for the custody of stadium as they claimed that the lease granted to the PHF has expired.

After the meeting, the sports minister and Asif Bajwa will hold a press conference at the same venue at 1.00pm.—APP
