KARACHI, July 2: Three people were killed on Wednesday in acts of violence in different parts of the city, police said.

A 30-year-old man was found shot dead near Pehalwan Goth. His body was taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre where sources said the victim was shot a single bullet to his head.

They said the victim was shot from point blank range as the bullet went through his skull.

Airport police said that the victim, identified as Victor Masih, son of Gulzar Masih, was a vagabond drug addict.

They said the victim’s family lived in Bhitaiabad.

Killed over enmity

A 25-year-old man was shot dead in Sikandar Goth within the limits of Sachal police.

Police said that four attackers opened fire on Mohammed Din, son of Noor Din, who was sitting outside his house.

They said one of the attackers, identified as Salman, son of Musa Abro, was also caught by the victim’s family.

The police said the victim’s brother had married a woman without the consent of her family, who were involved in the attack.

The police registered the case against Salman and his accomplices on the complaint of the victim’s brother.

Guard killed

A 28-year-old security guard of a cement factory was shot dead by a suspect, who was also shot and arrested.

Manghopir police said suspect Nawaz Khan had a dispute with the cement factory over a piece of land.

They said the suspect came to the factory and opened fire on the security guard, who died instantly.

The body of Rajab Ali, who hailed from Larkana, was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for an autopsy.

Hospital sources said the victim received a single bullet in his upper torso.

Accidental death

A 21-year-old man was killed when the pistol of his cousin went off accidentally. Shahrah-i-Noorjehan police said Sher Dil Khan, son of Allah Ditta, came to meet his cousin, Mohammed Yousuf, a security guard, from Rajanpur.

The body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where sources said the victim received a bullet that went through his jaw. The police arrested and booked Mohammed Yousuf under Section 319 for accidental killing.

UTP commits suicide

A 40-year-old undertrial prisoner committed suicide inside the Central Prison. Prison officials said Wasim Ahmed hanged himself inside a bathroom. Police said the victim was booked and arrested on March 2 for strangling his wife, Nadra.

They said the victim was mentally unstable.
