Committee chief resigns

NAWABSHAH, June 30: Chairman District Accounts and Finance Committee reportedly resigned from office because of non-cooperative attitude of district government officials.

Munir Shah, Nazim, Pir Zakri Union Council and Committee’s Chairman told Dawn here on Monday that he tendered his resignation to acting district nazim a couple of days back.

He said the non-cooperative and non-serious attitude of heads of all offices of the district government was the reason behind his resignation. He said he had been requesting submission of budget management forms (1-14) from all groups of offices since one year but none was provided to the Committee.

He said the Finance and Planning Department did not consult during budget preparation for 2008-09 while no meeting of Budget Development Commi-ttee was held.—Correspondent
