LRC races postponed

Published June 30, 2008

LAHORE, June 29: Sunday’s Lahore Summer Meeting has been postponed until Tuesday due to heavy downpour in the city.

The non-stop rain continuing till the afternoon made the racecourse slippery and unfit for racing after which it was decided by the Lahore Race Club (LRC) to hold the six-event card on Tuesday (July 1), with the first race commencing at 5.30pm.

The LRC further announced that the Lahore Gymkhana midweek races scheduled to be held on Wednesday have also been postponed for two days and will now be held on Thursday (July 3).

Handicaps for Thursday races will, therefore, be issued by Wednesday.—A.G
