Omer excels in second round

KARACHI, June 29: Eighth Seed, Omer Osman of Modern Club displayed a superb game while playing against promising international Adil Kohari in the 2nd round of Juniors U-17 singles in the 5th STA Development Series tennis championship (Sindh Ranking) at PNS Karsaz Karachi, on Sunday according to a press release.

Final score was 7-6, 6-4.

In the mens singles second round Aslam Pervez had to work hard to beat Asif Khan of PNS Karsaz, 7-5, 5-7, 6-3.

Mens singles: Remaining 1st round match: Ali Asgher Bandeali bt H. A Rajpoot 6-1, 3-1 rtd.

Mens singles 2nd round: Aslam Pervez bt Asif Khan 7-5, 5-7, 6-3, Muhammed Abdul Saeed bt Asadullah 6-3, 6-2, Vinod Das bt Syed Abbas Raza 1-6, 6-2, 6-2.

Juniors U-17 singles 2nd round: Omer Shahid bt Noorur Rehman 6-3, 6-4, Omer Osman bt Adil Kohari 7-6, 6-4, Bilal Shariff bt Ahad Ahmed 6-3, 6-0, M. Ali Zubir bt Mustafa Tariq 6-2, 6-2, Talha Saeed bt Fraz Ashraf 6-3, 7-6.

U- 13 quarter-final: Boys: Hamza Asim bt Yasir Rasool 8-6. Girls: Maheen Dada bt Asim Allawala 8-5.

Ladies singles (Round Robin): Sara Ahmed bt Saman Shahid 8-0.

Boys U-15 pre-quarters: Hamza Pataudi bt Omer Osman 5-7, 6-2, 6-4.
