ISLAMABAD, June 26: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari on Thursday left Dubai on a six-day visit to Turkey and Greece.

According to PPP spokesman Farhatullah Khan Babar, during his visit to Turkey Mr Zardari will call separately on Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and President Abdullah Gul, besides attending a luncheon hosted by Huseyin Celik, Education Minister and co-chairman of the Joint Economic Commission.

The PPP co-chairman will also be guest of honour at a lunch hosted by the wife and son of the late president Turgut Ozal.

He will also call on former Turkish prime minister Prof Tansu Ciller, besides meeting representatives of the Turkish business community.

After his visit to Turkey, Mr Zardari will leave for Athens (Greece) to deliver a keynote address at the Socialist International Congress on “Resolving Conflicts and Overcome Instability”, starting on July 1.

The People’s Party co-chairman will return to Dubai on July 3 for a day before returning to Pakistan, said Mr Babar in his statement.
